Snowed In

Snow was the word of February. We got so much of it. We spent the last days of February cooped up in the apartment while it snowed 2 feet. Branches came down, whole trees came down, it looks like a war zone outside. Thankfully, we never lost power. Because that would have sucked. We were without internet for over 24 hours though. I started to twitch. But the husband (who THANK GOD happened to be home for this storm) pulled out his Sprint aircard and all was saved. Facebook! Twitter! Oh, and work email, that too.

The first day was okay. We baked cookies, and then ate just about all of them. We watched alot of Olympics, since we still had cable on Thursday (I would have been super cranky if I had missed the ladies free skate). We read books, we played with blocks. We played with the water in the sink. A new favorite. It was lovely.

Friday we shoveled and played in the snow. The husband and I tried to sneak past Three to get some work done since some people were operating business as usual. We ate what was left of the cookies. We (I) made the mistake of showing Three that we could sit on the ottoman and push ourselves across the room. A new favorite. We made it through.

Saturday we were all going crazy. There were no more toys to play with. We played outside as long as Three’s little cheeks could handle it. We shoveled some more snow. Our town was still under a state of emergency so we couldn’t really go any where still. The husband hooked up the DVD player finally and we watched Finding Nemo. Twice. Finally the cable came back. The Olympics were back in our life. Yay! We cooked dinner with what was left in the house. We were sad to have finished the cookies and have no more chocolate chips to make more. Three lost his mind and begged to go outside. He brought shoes to us. He pointed at his jacket. He brought us car keys. He tried to open doors. He done. And when none of that worked, he threw bascially a two hour temper tantrum. The only thing that calmed him down was watching videos of Bari’s little boy. Thank goodness for Vimeo. The husband and I counted down the seconds to bedtime. 8 PM has never come slower. It sucked.

After three days of being stuck in our 840 sq feet apartment, going grocery shopping on Sunday was like the most fun ever.

I am officially ready for spring.
